Genezio raises $2 million pre-seed round led by Gapminder Ventures, in a landscape changed forever by generative AI

Bucharest, April 5th, 2024: Genezio, a Romanian startup founded in 2023, raised a $2 million pre-seed round led by Gapminder Ventures to build deployment infrastructure for developers working in a software landscape being reshaped by generative AI.

This is the first investment made by GapMinder Ventures from their second fund. The investment was made together with Underline Ventures and a group of angel investors.

The company reunites part of the former leadership team at VectorWatch and Fitbit: serial entrepreneur Andrei Pitis as CEO, former UiPath-er Bogdan Ripa as CPO, and Bogdan Vlad as CTO, joined by Paula Cionca as CMO.

As the market evolved, a larger opportunity became visible on the other side of the same shift. AI systems were starting to mediate how people find products and make decisions, and brands were losing visibility into how they were being represented with no reliable way to measure it, let alone influence it. Genezio refocused the company around that problem.

Today, Genezio is an AI marketing intelligence platform. It helps brands understand, measure, and improve how they are represented across AI-driven conversations and generative search, across ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, and the systems that will replace traditional search. The pivot has translated into commercial momentum. Genezio is now growing 2x quarter-over-quarter, with a customer base that spans enterprise brands across multiple categories and geographies.
